The usability analysis conducted on our systems are a top-down approach that is iteratively revisited. Information re-architecture, page focus, process flow, usability design patterns and even user testing all form part of our extensive process.

Dot slash is equipped with the skill set to identify and address usability improvements to increase business.
Usability in general is something a lot of companies believe to be inherently part of what they do. Unfortunately that is rarely, if ever, the case. There needs to be dedicated efforts in place to research test and understand the users of a system, user in general even. Complicated systems sometimes require fragmentation of users and problem solving skills for making the transitions possible. Usability ties in beautifully into our measurability philosophy ensuring usability improvements can even be made on an on-going basis.
Let's go through some of the usability procedures we have in place to ensure better usability:
- Baseline checklist
We have a 250-point checklist we use to establish a general research basis. In many ways it is a quality control checklist, but the focus of the list is the improvement of usability.
- Business needs
Yes, it's not all about the users. Your business goals need not suffer while usability is addressed. We put specific effort into the achieving of business goals through usability. We measure and improve.
- Information Architecture
Information organization is a big concern for websites with a lot of content. We do our research and we organize the website's content to maximize the goals on a page level, section/department level as well as a global level.
- Card sorting
When several parties contribute to what should be present on a page, it often happens that the really important element on the page don't get noticed. Card sorting is just one of many methods to help prioritize not only page elements, but features and a lot of other elements as well.
- Event tracking and A/B Testing
At the end of the day statistical analysis is a great indicator of what works and what not. Where do people prefer to go, what do they notice, and what do they interact with. This can be tested in a lab, but the bigger trend is sometimes impossible to spot in a lab.
- User Testing
Nothing beats proper user testing in a suitable environment. A small group to identify the key problems in the system is a very effective tool.
